[Letter] 1876 Dec. 14, Crozer Sem. to Jno. A. Broadus / J.C. Long. 1876.

Southern Baptist Theological Seminary accepted two students who left Crozer upon Crozer's admittance of an African-American student. Long wrote "I am sorry our southern boys made a fuss. It was a thing that neither trustees nor faculty could avoid ... It would be a great pity if Hampton should be left out, and I hope he will get peaceably in." Compliments Broadus on his "little book on the history of preaching." "I would be glad if you could make it about three times as large." Remarks "I see Ben Hill [Georgia senator Benjamin Harvey Hill] is getting very quiet now. What an old anachronism he is!"
